Revving Up for Malta Classic 2025 – Press Conference Highlights

ree

Today’s press conference at the Salini Hotel officially kicked off the countdown to Malta Classic 2025 — and what an energising start it was!

Pamela Said, Operations Director at Malta Classic, opened the event with a warm welcome and an exciting preview of what promises to be another unforgettable edition of Malta’s most iconic celebration of classic motoring.

Karl Loftus, Commercial Manager at Enemed, a long-standing supporter of the event, spoke about the growing anticipation surrounding Malta Classic. He noted that year after year, people inquire about the event well in advance — a clear sign that it has firmly secured its place in the hearts of motorsport enthusiasts.

Representing Transport Malta, Chief Officer Gilbert Agius, reaffirmed the organisation’s continued logistical support, ensuring smooth traffic management and event flow. His colleague, Alexander Kitcher, Manager in the Events Department, emphasised the importance of following Transports Malta's instructions and directions provided by enforcement officials to guarantee a safe and seamless experience for all involved.

Francesca Vincenti, Senior Manager at the Malta Tourism Authority, expressed MTA’s pride in supporting the event once again — particularly in attracting international drivers and promoting Malta as a premier destination for classic car lovers.

A highlight of the event was the unveiling of the exquisite Paul Picot Firshire Megarotor Automatic timepiece, imported by Victor Azzopardi Jewellers — the official prize for the winner of the Malta Classic Grand Prix. A truly fitting reward for a champion.

With such strong backing and an exciting lineup ahead, Malta Classic 2025 is already shaping up to be a standout event on the island’s cultural and sporting calendar.

About the event: The 15th edition of the Malta Classic, which will take place from Thursday 23rd to Sunday 26th October across various locations. The event will culminate with the circuit races around the fortifications of Mdina and the outskirts of Mtarfa and Rabat on Saturday and Sunday.

Thursday 23rd October begins with the Mtahleb Classic Hill Climb by Hudson Group, where classic vehicles will tackle the historic hill climb track first used in the 1970s. This provides drivers and racers with the opportunity to fine-tune their vehicles in preparation for the weekend’s circuit races.

Friday 24th October will present the now well-established concept we introduced a few years ago in place of the traditional concours d’elegance. The Style and Elegance by Mdina Glass will be held at Villa Bologna in Attard, featuring a carefully curated selection of the island’s most stylish classic vehicles. As always, participants and visitors are encouraged to dress in period costumes, and many of the vehicles will be shown publicly for the first time—making this one of Malta’s most exclusive static displays.

On Saturday and Sunday, the action shifts to the outskirts of Mdina, Mtarfa, and Rabat for the Mdina Grand Prix fuelled by Enemed. Saturday will feature time trials, while Sunday will showcase group races, thrilling overtakes, and the crowning of category winners and the overall champion.

This press conference also highlights our international reach, with foreign cars and drivers joining us from neighbouring Sicily, United Kingdom and Germany.

To give you a sneak peek, this year’s lineup includes iconic models such as the Ferrari Dino 206 SP, Lotus Europa, Austin 7 special and Alfa Romeo Giulia Super, among many others. More details will be shared on our social media channels in the coming weeks.
